Bavarian Bier Cafe - no better place to finish, start or soldier on a working week than with a tall stout, schnitzel and buxom lasses behind the counter!

So in that spirit, I’m a fan!

However, i am not a fan of whoever they hired to run their latest marketing promotion - Klaus von Krum invites you and 50 friends to spend Oktoberfest at Bavarian, with bottomless biers*, schnitzels the size of the moon and even an Omm Pah Pah band!

Sound like a treat no?

Wrong, because the geniuses behind planning the promotion are actually hosting the event in…wait for it…November! If you want a surefire way to lose the emotional and intrinsic value of a successful marketing/PR campaign launched to promote the biggest bier festival in the world, well done!

Secondly, hats off to the team for realising the power of social media to spread the good word, but so much for harnessing the power when the supporter links to Facebook freezes during submission!

For Oktoberfest and Bavarian Bier Cafe, this promo seemed like a match made in heaven. But this just goes to show how bad planning and site integration can turn a dream into a nightmare.

*Bavarian is only supplying 20L of bier for the party…Proposterous!
